Ovarian Cysts during Pregnancy
Majority of ovarian heaps are found during the pregnancy time and these are often gentle in nature. According to the reports, it is found that one out of every 25,000 births is affected with ovarian cancer.

By using ultra-sound test, the nature of ovarian mass is identified, but it cannot be identified precisely in all the cases. It the ultrasound displays that the ovarian mass is fluid filled, without any thick walls or septation, then it is likely to be gentle.
Do Cysts Go Away Automatically?
Well, some of the cysts may disappear automatically after a while, and the doctors often suggest that a pregnant patient waits for few days for the cyst to disappear. But, a 15 cm cyst will not go down on its own as that of fluid filled cyst will do. Cysts are very common during pregnancy, disturbing one in 1000 pregnant women on an average.
Sizes of Cysts
The problem with even benign, large cysts during pregnancy time is that they may twist on themselves or may rupture. If any one of these thing happen, then it will cause pain.
The cysts in the size of more than six to eight cm are removed normally by doing surgery in case if the size does not reduce in certain course of time. The best time to get operated during pregnancy is around 14 to 16 weeks. In some cases, most of the cysts are dealt through laparoscopy, but large cysts need an open cut to remove.
The Bottom-Line
In most cases, pregnant women are closely monitored throughout the pregnancy period and the smaller cysts tend to disappear automatically after a few weeks time. But, the larger cysts usually need to be operated and don’t disappear on their own.
